EDUCATION RESOURCES
From cranberry growing and harvesting, to business and marketing, Wisconsin’s cranberry industry provides a wide array of learning opportunities for elementary and grade-school students, as well as the general public. Along with the fun and interesting cranberry facts, the educational video and photo slideshow, these resources provided by WSCGA and the Wisconsin Cranberry Board give more information about the state’s largest fruit industry.
Learn About Cranberries Curriculum
This web-based curriculum contains a set of lesson plans based entirely on the cranberry industry in Wisconsin. The Learn About Cranberries curriculum is targeted for third, fourth and fifth grade students and it explores the social heritage, science and technology of this important agricultural system in the state. Each section of the website offers interactive lesson plans that will engage your students in critical thinking as they learn about cranberries and manage their own cranberry marsh. Although this is a cohesive program, it also allows for maximum flexibility.
The curriculum was developed to meet Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for science and agriculture, and the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts (CLSS-ELA).
